BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — A man shot while trying to rob a father and son during a Craigslist transaction in Battle Creek is going to prison.

A Calhoun County Circuit Court judge Thursday sentenced Christian Logan to 4 years to 15 years in prison, according to court records obtained by 24 Hour News 8.

In September, a jury found Logan guilty of assault with intent to commit an unarmed robbery in the October 2015 incident.

Police say Logan and another man ambushed Jon Vanderwiel and his father Robert Vanderwiel who had driven to Battle Creek to buy a classic car they saw on Craigslist. Officers say Jon Vanderwiel, who has a concealed pistol license, shot both men during the robbery attempt.

The suspects ran away but were later arrested and treated for their wounds.
