GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will celebrate its 90th year, and a local woman will serve as a float handler in the celebration.

Megan Avery, a resident of Battle Creek, stopped by 24 Hour News 8 Daybreak Sunday to talk about her experience with the event. She said she first signed up for the parade in 2009 and has been involved ever since. This year, she will be handling the Spongebob Squarepants float.
