KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — A stolen gun, cocaine and multiple outstanding warrants discovered during a traffic stop led to the arrests of two men in Kalamazoo.
An officer with the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety pulled a vehicle over near S. Rose Street and Wall Street around 12:30 a.m. Monday.
The officer discovered the backseat passenger had cocaine on him, as well as a loaded 9 mm handgun lying near him that was reported stolen out of Kalamazoo County.
The 22-year-old Kalamazoo man was arrested on several charges including possession of cocaine, possession of a stolen firearm and felony firearm.
The driver of the vehicle initially lied to officers about his name, but after figuring out the real identity of the 21-year-old Battle Creek man, they found out he had nine outstanding warrants for his arrest. He was arrested on multiple charges including operating a vehicle while intoxicated, felony firearm, and obstruction by disguise.
