Bronson warns of scam targeting job hunters

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) – Bronson Healthcare is warning job hunters about scammers posing as recruiters for the Kalamazoo-based health system.

Bronson Healthcare says it’s received multiple complaints about the scheme. The thieves contact job seekers and pretend to interview them for work-from-home jobs at Bronson. Instead, they phish for the would-be worker’s personal and financial information.

Bronson says the suspects primarily target people who have posted their resumes online. The scammers email, text and interview candidates online.

The hospital says it’s stepping up its safeguards for employees and job candidates. Bronson says it will only contact a job seeker once they’ve applied through the hospital’s website or attended a career event at Bronson. Legitimate interviewers use an email address ending with
