Downtown GR’s 20 Monroe Live reveals first 19 acts

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Promoters are hoping some big name bands will fill downtown Grand Rapids’ newest concert venue to its 2,600 person capacity.

Lynrd Skynyrd, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Young the Giant and Umphrey’s McGee are among the 19 acts coming to 20 Monroe Live.

The B.O.B. expansion announced its grand opening lineup Monday. It includes a variety of music genres, including funk, rock, jazz, hip hop and improvisation.

The concert schedule includes:

Feb. 2 – Umphrey’s McGee
Feb. 3 – Lynyrd Skynyrd
Feb. 4 – Shinedown
Feb. 6 – Ms. Lauryn Hill
Feb. 7 – Dita Von Teese
Feb. 8 – The Cadillac Three
Feb. 9 – Dirty Heads
Feb. 10 – The Verve Pipe
Feb. 12 – Michael Carbonaro
Feb. 18 – Young The Giant
Feb. 23 – Dropkick Murphys
Feb. 25 – Pop Evil
March 11 – Juicy J
March 25 – Slightly Stoopid
April 2 – Peter Frampton
April 6 – Dan + Shay
April 19 – The Flaming Lips
May 20 – P R I M U S

Promoters say a second round of concerts will be announced on Cyber Monday.

Tickets will go on sale Friday, Nov. 18 at 10 a.m. on 20 Monroe Live’s website. They’ll also be available online on Live Nation and Ticketmaster’s pages.

Each show will have a limited amount of $20 tickets. The price for the remaining tickets will vary by act.

Billed as the most intimate live music and entertainment club in the area, 20 Monroe Live is expected to feature a private bar, open air patio and fan-friendly seating with great views of every performance. The venue will also serve up locally sourced food.

The new venue plans to hold a job fair on Dec. 3 to fill the nearly 100 jobs 20 Monroe Live is expected to create. The job fair will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at The B.O.B.

A second part of The Gilmore Collection’s expansion plana four-season beer garden, is slated to open in Spring next to 20 Monroe Live.
