GRAND RAPIDS, Mich (WOOD) – Now is the time of year to give back and give thanks. Students at Greenville Middle School is doing an extremely unique fundraiser. They are doing random acts of kindness and community service for donations to help purchase student, classroom and school items. With a lot of negativity happening in our world, this fundraiser has been a way for students and families to show a small bit of kindness can spread and be beneficial for both the receiver AND giver of the kind acts.
Each student is given access to a webpage through rasiecraze.net and are asked to send out emails to family and friends with a link to a donation page. The student is asked to let their potential donors know what acts of kindness or community service they plan on doing, and in turn, the donors help their school. Greenville has raised $2,500 so far, and 65 students that have already signed up have pledged to do 300+ acts of kindness or community service. This is a great way for the students to feel empowered to make a difference in their community, and not just sell items door to door.
