BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — Three teens were arrested following a bomb threat at Lakeview Middle School in Battle Creek.

The teens — ages 13 and 14-years-old — are being lodged in the Calhoun County Juvenile Facility Tuesday on charges of making a terrorist threat.

A parent called police after finding a note on her porch purporting that their child intended to blow up Lakeview Middle School. The note also named specific people that would be killed, according to Battle Creek police.

Authorities determined the student did not make the threat, and identified three suspects who police say admitted to making the threat and trying to implicate the classmate.

The Lakeview School District decided to cancel classes district-wide Tuesday while police investigated the incident. No bomb was found at the school.

Authorities say this threat not only shut down the school district, but also wasted police resources as they investigated and cleared the building.
