Woman injured in crash involving semi in Grand Haven Twp.

GRAND HAVEN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A woman was injured in a crash involving a semi-truck in Ottawa County Tuesday morning.

The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office says a 2002 Subaru Outback, driven by 34-year-old Jennifer Norton of Grand Haven, was traveling southbound on 144th Avenue when it drove through a stop sign at Lake Michigan Drive and hit a westbound semi-truck around 8:30 a.m.

Norton was pinned in her vehicle and had to be extricated. She was taken by ambulance to North Ottawa Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The impact of the crash ruptured the fuel tanks on the semi-truck so Youngs Environmental was brought in to clean-up the area.

The sheriff’s office says there was dense fog in the area when the crash occurred.
