GRPD: Man injured in Wednesday morning shooting

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Grand Rapids police are investigating following a Wednesday morning shooting.

It happened around 6:45 a.m. near the intersection of College Avenue and Griggs Street SE, according to a Grand Rapids Police Department news release.

Police say a 23-year-old man was sitting on a porch when he heard gunshots. The victim took off running and later realized he had been shot. Around two hours later, he was taken to the hospital by a private vehicle with non-life threatening injuries.

No suspect information was available.
