Body pulled from Grand River in Georgetown Twp.

Not yet known how man died or how long his body was in the Grand River

GEORGETOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities are working to identify the man whose body was pulled from the Grand River near Jenison on Thursday.

The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called to the river near Riverview Drive in Georgetown Township around 1 p.m. after a citizen walking their dog spotted what appeared to be a body in the water.

Authorities recovered the body. The only description that was immediately available was that it was that of a man who was about 6 feet tall.

The sheriff’s office doesn’t yet know how the man died or how long he was in the water. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday, which should determine the cause of death and the man’s identity.
