Ex-Kent City HS trainer sentenced for sex crimes

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — An athletic trainer who recorded himself inappropriately touching Kent City High School students is heading to prison.

Justin Greenlaw was sentenced to one to two years for fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct. He was also sentenced to two to seven years for two counts of using a computer to commit a crime/capturing an image of an unclothed person.

Greenlaw, who worked for Spectrum Health, was contracted out by Kent City High School to work as its athletic trainer for three years.

According to court documents in two of the cases, police said they found photos and videos on Greenlaw’s cellphone that showed him inappropriately touching two high school students. The documents said the girls were unaware they were being recorded. The CSC charge involved a third Kent City High School student.

Greenlaw had pleaded no contest to fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct He also entered a guilty plea to two counts of using a computer to commit a crime/capturing an image of an unclothed person.

In return, the prosecutor dismissed two other counts of using a computer to commit a crime/capturing an image of an unclothed person.
