Authorities: 3 arrested for armed robbery near Holland

PARK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Three men were arrested Sunday after robbing a man at gunpoint north of Holland, authorities say.

It happened around 3:20 p.m. at a strip mall on Ottawa Beach Road near Waukazoo Drive in Park Township, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim told deputies he met up with the suspects to pay them some money that he owed them. When the suspects saw that he was carrying more cash than what they were owed, they robbed him and then drove away, he claimed.

The suspects had last been seen headed north on 144th Avenue. A sheriff’s deputy soon spotted their vehicle near the intersection of 144th and Lakewood Boulevard and pulled it over on Aniline Avenue, less than two miles from the scene of the robbery.

There were four males in the vehicle. Police say they also found weapons inside it, though they did not immediately specify what kind or how many.

Three adults were jailed — two on an armed robbery charge and the third on a probation violation. The suspects’ names were not released Sunday. The fourth male was released into the custody of his parents.
