OLIVE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) – An Ottawa County paramedic is scheduled to head home from the hospital this week after a serious crash in August kept him in the hospital.

A benefit concert was held Sunday at Ottawa Reformed Church in Olive Township to help Tim Hoffman and his family.

Pastor Paul Wernlund told 24 Hour News 8 that the event raised more than $13,000 for the Hoffman family, and an initial headcount at the benefit clocked attendance at about 300 people.

Hoffman has been in the hospital since the Aug. 7 crash, which happened near Holland. On Thursday, he had surgery during which doctors put a plate in his head.

The proceeds from Sunday’s concert will help with Hoffman’s medical costs and missed wages. Donations are still being accepted.
