GRPD: Unlicensed teen driver at fault in 3-vehicle crash

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A 17-year-old unlicensed driver is being blamed for causing a three-vehicle crash in Grand Rapids Sunday.

It happened around 12:15 p.m. on 28th Street near Breton Avenue, according to a Grand Rapids Police Department news release.

Police say a westbound vehicle went into the left turn lane to turn into a parking lot when it was struck from behind by a second vehicle. The first vehicle was pushed into oncoming traffic causing it to hit a third vehicle.

Four people were taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Police have listed a 17-year-old driver, who didn’t have a license, at fault in the crash. It’s unknown if alcohol was a factor.
