Hudsonville man dies after hit by car in Georgetown Twp.

GEORGETOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities say a Hudsonville man who was hit by a vehicle Sunday night in Ottawa County has died.

The crash happened around 5:45 p.m. on Port Sheldon Street just east of 48th Avenue in Georgetown Township, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say a Hudsonville man was struck by a westbound 2012 Jeep when he was walking westbound on Port Sheldon Street.

The victim, 30-year-old Korey Taphouse, was taken to Spectrum Health with critical injuries. The sheriff’s office says he died from his injuries Monday morning.

The driver, a 46-year-old Hudsonville woman, was not injured in the crash.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
