It’s not too late to give on Giving Tuesday

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — In the wake of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, it’s important for us to remember to give back. Giving Tuesday, the tuesday after Cyber Monday, sets aside a time to do just that.

The Grand Rapids Community Foundation is partnering with #GRGives to encourage giving on #GivingTuesday.

#GRGives acts as one place to give to a vast number of local non-profits and give non-profits a chance to reach people who want to give. Over 100 non-profits have signed on.

Last year’s Giving Tuesday resulted in over 700,000 online donations, with $117 million raised for over 40,000 organizations. #GRGives hopes to build off of this energy to give in order to help raise support for area non-profits.

Another option for giving back is to donate to the Grand Rapids Community Foundation. The Grand Rapids Community Foundation is Kent County’s philanthropic leader and holds over $306 million dollars in assets.

Last year they awarded $13 million in grants and scholarships. In response to Giving Tuesday you can donate now, or you can find out how to give later.
