GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Strong winds knocked out power to thousands of Consumers Energy customers in West Michigan Monday night.
The hardest hit counties included Kent, Calhoun and Barry counties. A spokesperson for Consumers Energy says crews have been assigned and they expect power to be restored to everyone by late morning/early afternoon.
These are where the outages stand as of 10:30 a.m. Tuesday according to Consumers Energy online outage map:
- Allegan: 311
- Barry: 1,185
- Calhoun: 1,966
- Ionia: 393
- Kalamazoo: 73
- Kent: 584
- Ottawa: 211
Watch out for downed power lines and trees. If you see a downed wire, stay at least 25 feet away and call Consumers Energy at 1.888.477.5050.
