Dowagiac police: Toys for Tots donation jar stolen

DOWAGIAC, Mich. (WOOD) — Police in Dowagiac are looking for the person who stole a Toys for Tots donation jar from a gas station convenience store.

The theft happened on Sunday night at the Shell at 102 N. Front St., near Division Street, according to the Dowagiac Department of Public Safety. Police say the thief went inside, then left with the donation jar, which had money in it.

Police on Tuesday released surveillance images of the a man they want to talk to about the theft, who was wearing a dark-colored coat with light patches under the arms. They also released an image of a vehicle believed to be linked to the case.
