GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — There’s new leadership in the Michigan House of Representatives for the new session.
Last week, “To The Point” introduced you to the new speaker of the House. This week, we talk to the leader of the Democrats in the House, Rep. Sam Singh of East Lansing.
He said he is willing to compromise as well as be the voice of the opposition.
“We’re very willing to work with the other side of the aisle. We have been over the last four years that I’ve been in office and I’m looking forward to those times that we can find common issues and common values,” he said. “But those instances where we don’t have those, you know, I’m very willing to make sure we’re the voice of the people and make sure that voice is heard in the legislative process.”
Above in this Dec. 18, 2016 episode of “To The Point,” Sighn discusses what to expect from the state legislature in the upcoming session.
