Our Snow has been Mostly Lake-Effect
Most of our snow has been lake-effect, caused by cold air crossing the relatively warmer waters of Lake Michigan. As it does it picks up moisture that produces the lake-effect clouds and snow. Look at these season snowfall totals as of midnight. Milwaukee has had less than 5″ of snow this winter! Muskegon has had 12 times that much. The Port City is over 60″ for the winter.
