The Old Cemetery

While visiting a park on Norris Lake (a long, skinny lake behind the Norris Dam), my mother, sister and I found ourselves walking along a nature trail that curved along the shore of the lake.  We saw what looked like railroad ties stacked up in the woods, a distance up the hill from our trail.  My sister climbed the hill and called for me to come up there.  The “railroad ties” were the crumbling steps of what was a small church.  Behind where the small church would have been, there was a small cemetery, where there were maybe 50 graves…
