The Muskegon GLERL camera shortly before noon shows the lake-effect snow band. That band dumped 3-4″ of snow at Hart. The band will weaken as it pushes east toward the US 131 corridor later this PM. Up to 10″ of snow has fallen in Berrien Co. from that snow band with 7″ of new snow in Benton Harbor.
Snowcover this AM: 1″ Grand Rapids, Muskegon, Grandville, Saranac, Houghton Lake, Alma and Lake City, 2″ Kalamazoo, Grand Ledge, Montague, Scottville, Beulah and Detour Village, 3″ Hastings, 4″ Gaylord and E. Tawas, 5″ Hart, 6″ Rogers City and Vanderbilt, 12″ Marquette, 15″ S. Ste. Marie. Today is the 90th day in a row that S. Ste. Marie has had 10″ or more of snow on the ground.

The U.S. has a 37.2% snow cover this AM – thanks to the E. Coast snowstorm. That’s the most snow on any March 14th going back through the 10 years we have data for. Some cold low temps. this AM: -9 Estherville IA, 7 Bluefield WV, 28 Macon GA, 32 Dothan AL, 36 Jacksonville FL.
