A Winter Weather Advisory is out early tonight for the Keweenaw Peninsula for 3-6″ of new snow. Allouez already reports 2.5″ to 3″. At 6 pm, Houghton was reporting a visibility of 1/4 mile in moderate snow.
This is a little hard to see with a couple of water drops on the camera…but this is an MDOT camera on US 41 north of Houghton Thurs. evening. Looks pretty snowy, though most of the snow has been melting on the road.
Other areas of the U.P. had heavy rain. Several locations had over an inch and a half. It was an interesting day in Lower Michigan. In the SE corner, the temperature reached 79 at Adrian and Lambertville – at the other end it was in the mid 30s with occasional flurries on Mackinac Island.
