Wind Advisory

A Wind Advisory remains in effect for the lakeshore counties until 7 pm today.  Gale Warnings are in effect for Lake Michigan for winds up to 40 knots and waves as high as 8-13 feet.  As of early Tuesday, wind gusts reached 61 mph at E. Tawas, 60 mph at Petoskey, 58 mph at Grand Haven 55 mph at Mackinac Island and at Pentwater, 54 mph at Whitehall, 53 mph at Shelby, Holland, S Haven and east Gr. Rapids, 52 mph at Big Rapids 51 mph at Ionia, 49 mph at Saugatuck, 48 mph at Fremont and Ludington, 46 mph at Muskegon, 45 mph at Battle Creek and 42 mph at Jamestown.  Small hail was reported in Marne.

As of 10 am, 73,692 Consumers Energy customers are without power, inc. 95% of Crawford Co. and 70% of Roscommon Co.  Kent Co. still has 3,264 without power.  Moran had 2.36″ of rain.  It stays windy today with falling temps.  We were 60 yesterday evening, down to the mid 30s by late morning and we’ll be below freezing this evening with slick spots developing on area roads.
