Radars here should update automatically. A Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect from 4 pm today until 4 pm tomorrow (Thu.) for the lakeshore counties, plus Kalamazoo and Lake Counties for 2-4″ of snow. Most inland snowfall will be less than 2″, though slick spots are likely even in areas east of US 131.
The Winter Weather Advisory extends up into NW Lower Michigan, including Cadillac, Traverse City, Manistee and Frankfort. A Winter Storm Warning is in effect until 4 pm Thurs. for Charlevoix, Antrim, Otsego and Kalkaska Counties for up to 8″ of new snow.
Also: The weather station at the Stannard Rock Lighthouse reported sustained winds of 56 MPH with a gust to 71 MPH.
